The best game in the world

For the people who don't already know which is highly unlikely Pro evolution soccer is one of the best if not the best Football Sim of all time. It is know in japan as winning 11 but here in Europe as pro evolution soccer.
It all started in October of 2001 when the first of the games was released as pro evo it was finally an answer for fifa which was clearly dominating the Football Sim genre, so with the release of the game fifa were hardly worried with their lack of licences to display player names and club names.

The next in the series was a very big step up in the development of the games with the addition of an extra master league division faster game play better reactions and an improvement in the reaction speed in tackles and the computer players playing better with off the ball runs and positioning. This made for a more challenging game but clearly more fun. The game still with a lack of licences including the dutch players all famously being called oranges the other differences were that the names were no longer painfully obvious that it was the real club with Manchester United being called Manchester and Real Madrid being called Madrid they changed all the names completely. But to make this only a small problem they added a club team editor and player name editor. This was the last of the pro evo series to be on the PlayStation 1.

Pro Evolution 3 was released on the PlayStation 2 and for the first time on windows which was received very well by most but was not by some because of the lack of online play with fifa 2004 did have already that year. The most noticeable difference in this game was the major improvement of the graphics which gave the game a nice feel and the game play was also made faster to really give the feel that pro evo was going to be the leading football sim of all time.
The strange thing about this game was that the person they picked to be on the cover of the game the world renowned referee Pierluigi Collina was not in the selection of referees. In this game there was now the addition of added cups emulating the champions league and the
uefa cup. In this game there was the update from umbro to adidas.

Pro Evolution 4 was released late in 2004 on the cover again was Pierluigi Collina with Thierry Henry and Francesco Totti. This game had finally made the addition of full leagues with English French Spanish Italian and more this was a great edition to the game despite the fact that the licences still had not improved with teams such as Pompey for Portsmouth London Reds for arsenal man red for Manchester United the other change was stadium names like Trad
Bricks for Old Trafford and Blue Bridge for Stamford Bridge although not much improvement in the graphics the game was still noticeably better than its last. There was the addition of the new 6 star difficulty and in the pes shop you could now get more starting money for your master league which also feature a new player development where your players now developed until they were 24 or 25 depending on the player. You could now edit team shirts to add logos and sponsors to your teams jerseys.

Pro Evolution 5 was released in October 2005 and had finally added licensed teams to the English league with Arsenal and Chelsea. Thierry Henry featured on the cover alongside John Terry. This game was much harder than Pro Evolution 4 which was to the delight of the fans down to the ease of the last game which was deemed far to easy. Not much of a difference to the graphics but still a slight improvement. There was a major glitch in this game with empty crowds during game play but there was still crowd noise and were visible in cut scenes.

Pro Evolution 6 was released late in October 2006 this edition contained all new tricks and better game play for a faster game of football. The game was made for the PlayStation and the X Box but was noticeable different on the PlayStation down to the lack of training games on the XBox the XBox version was harder but had much better graphics than the PlayStation the game was also better on the XBox as the ball didn't seem to go through the players as often as before and on the PlayStation. The XBox version of the game got a lot of criticism because of the XBox live and how long it took to play a match.

Pro Evolution 2008 the most recent in the series was released on the 26 October 2007 and has introduced a whole aspect to the football sim with teamvision which means that while you play teamvision is taking note of how you play the game and the AI is changed accordingly allowing you to get better at your game also the computer teams also pick up on how you play the game. i.e if you always play down the wing the computer team will change their game play to defend against the way you play.

So that brings you up to date with Pro Evolution soccer and im sure we all can't wait until the next edition of this superstar game.
